Dino Fact: True dinosaurs fall into the categories Saurischian and Ornithischian, which are comprised solely of land-based reptiles that have a unique upright stance. Pterosaurs, as well as marine reptiles, do not fall into either group, thus are not dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs are solely land based? Umm, birds are living dinosaurs. They are part of Saurischia.

The upright stance of dinosaurs is shared with basal archosaurs (such as silesaurids) and many Mesozoic crocodile relatives too. Oh, and most mammals and some non-mammalian synapsids.

Now that I'm done with being an annoying nitpicker, it's a cool comic.

Troy Troodon: Actually pterosaurs do have an upright stance and some small feathered dinosaurs did glide and maybe maid a couple flaps. But yeah pterosaurs still aren't dinosaurs but they're still very close cousins.

This is true of some pterosaurs, namely the larger species such as quetzalcoatlus and the sort, but smaller species of pterodactyloid did not have the anatomy for it, and others, such as nyctosaurus, did not have the clawed feet on their wings necessary for proper locomotion on land.
